Comment about the wine:
Perfect condition. From the famous Nicolas cellar. A wonderful wine! Very elegant and stylish. Michael Broadbent even prefers it to the legendary 1947.
Comment about the vintage:
A highly rated, classic vintage. The best wines are to be found in Graves and St. Julien as well as some Pauillacs, even though Lafite is disappointing. On the right bank the 1964s are miles better. My favourites are Palmer, Haut Brion, Mission Haut Brion, Cheval Blanc, Latour, Pape Clément, Ducru Beaucaillou, Figeac, L'Arrosée, Lynch Bages, Gruaud Larose and Montrose.
